North Seattle Rainiers Select Baseball in Seattle Washinton provides the best possible baseball training, coaching, and playing experience. We select players for our program who are driven to perform at a high level on and off of the field. These players see the benefit of being committed to participating with the North Seattle Rainiers Select Program, and excelling at the game of baseball. It is our goal to develop players who achieve success on their respective high school and college teams, and in their everyday lives.
Why Rainiers Select Baseball?
The Rainiers program is different from other select programs. First, we are a non-profit organization. All funds received from our membership are put toward providing year-round training in our state-of-the-art indoor training facility, team operations, coaching, and other necessary expenses. Because we are not focused on making money, our fees are lower than most select programs.
Second, we invest in the development of all of the players we select for our teams. We support just a small number of teams (typically just one team at each of five age levels – 13u, 14u, 15u, 16u, and 18u) and select players who are committed to working hard on the field and off. We match this player commitment with excellent coaching from paid professionals and individualized training opportunities.
Over the last several years our Rainiers Select Baseball Program has been very successful in attracting quality players and achieving consistent high-level performance. Our teams have won multiple state and regional championships over the last three years. The vast majority of our players make their high school teams and many go on to play college ball. Our coaches and trainers help to promote those players that have aspirations to play at a higher level. Most importantly, all of our players benefit from our consistent focus on the life-lessons offered by baseball, including resilience, commitment, focus, and camaraderie.
All of our teams start winter training at the beginning of November. Winter training includes professional instruction in hitting, pitching, catching, and fielding, as well as an arm-strength and conditioning program.
Rainiers 13u and 14u teams begin games in March. Our teams play in Seattle Elite or Washington Elite (Koufax) leagues and some PONY league games with potential league playoffs generally taking place in July. These teams also participate in 3-5 tournaments during the season, including at least one out-of-town tournament. The season ends in early August.
Rainiers 15u, 16u, and 18u schedules are designed to accommodate the high school season. Winter training continues up until the time of high school tryouts (March). These teams then break for the high school season, although we do make our facility available to players who want extra work during the season. Games for these teams start at the end of the high school season (May) with all of our teams playing in either Seattle Elite or Washington Elite (Koufax) leagues. These teams participate in 4-6 tournaments during the summer, including at least one out-of-town tournament, and the season ends in early August.
